In a powerful collaboration on National Tree Growing Day, Kenya Railways Training Institute in South B transformed into a green oasis as Secretary to the Cabinet, Ms. Mercy Wanjau, led the occasion. The event, graciously hosted by Managing Director Mr. Philip J. Mainga EBS, saw esteemed guests including Starehe MP Amos Mwago and DG-NCPD Dr. Abey Sheikh joining hands for a common cause.

The atmosphere was vibrant as participating organizations, a diverse array including TARDA, CBO Greener Cities, Red Cross, Equity Bank, Identity 254, Freedom Festival, Darul Kheir, Nairobi County Government, Safer Nairobi Initiative, Kenya Forestry Services, Green Space, Safisha Saturday, Rotary Club of Industrial Area, Nairobi South Women Group, Soma Mama, Ebenezer CBO, Mukuru Parents, and Safi Cleaners and Recycling, collaborated to plant over 3,000 tree seedlings.

At the heart of this green movement was the inspiring presence of Mr. Philip J. Mainga EBS, led by example, a true leader at work, personally planted over 30 trees, setting a benchmark for Kenya Railways staff to catch up and achieve their tree planting targets.

This initiative exemplifies Kenya Railways’ commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. The collective effort of various organizations, under the guidance of Ms. Wanjau and the leadership of Mr. Mainga, showcases the power of collaboration in building a greener, sustainable future.
The event not only served as a meaningful contribution to the environment but also strengthened the bonds between Kenya Railways and the community. As we move forward, the echoes of rustling leaves and the promise of a green horizon stand as a testament to the positive impact that collaboration can have on our shared journey towards a better tomorrow.
