RAIL SAFETY MANAGER REF: KRBR155
Reporting to:              The Managing Director
Employment Type:     Five (5) Year renewable Contract Subject to  retirement age and performance
Work Station:             Nairobi

 Duties and responsibilities

  1. Periodic review of safety risks in the Corporation.
  2. Leading in the formulation and review of safety policies of the Corporation as appropriate.
  3.  Carrying out independent accident investigations on major railway accidents and enforce compliance with safety standards.
  4. Maintaining an up-to-date databank of major accidents reported by rail operators as well as preparing reports as required.
  5. Development of safety training and awareness programs for all stakeholder.
  6. Development of Emergency Response and Incidents Management plans.

 Requirements of the Position

  1. Master’s Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  3. A Minimum of ten (10) year’s relevant work experience, five (5) of which must be in Senior Management position.
  4. A management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  5. Member of a relevant professional body in good standing.
  6. Strong knowledge of mechanism and control system.
  7. Proficiency in computer applications.
  8. Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
