The 1500 hrs Madaraka Express Passenger Service train commonly known as the afternoon Express train now makes a stop at Voi station. This development came into effect on February 1, 2023. Passengers from Mombasa and Nairobi Termini can board and alight the train at Voi station. Passengers to Mombasa and Nairobi can also board at Voi station in the afternoons.

The Mombasa to Nairobi afternoon Express train arrives at Voi station at 16:38 pm and depart at 16:43 pm; while the Nairobi to Mombasa afternoon Express train arrives at Voi station at 18:48 pm and depart at 18:53 pm.

The Mombasa to Nairobi train now completes the journey at 8:18 pm, with the Nairobi to Mombasa train completing its journey at 8:30 pm.

Passengers are reminded that one must arrive at least one hour before departure in order to have a smooth check-in and boarding experience.
