SGR Line a Vital Installation in the Transport Sector, Says Transport CS

Transport Cabinet Secretary Mr. James Macharia has said that the SGR project is a vital installation in the transport sector in the country. He said that beginning mid this year, Kenyans will herald a new dawn with the commissioning of the Standard Gauge Railway line.

This was during a tour of all the transport projects in Mombasa town. The projects include the second container terminal at the Port of Mombasa, the Dongo Kundu bypass and the SGR project which encompasses the Marshalling Yard at Port Reitz and the Mombasa Terminal in Miritini.

Mr. Macharia was accompanied by the Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Mrs. Catherine Mturi-Wairi, Edon Consultants International Arch. Jerry Ndong, the TSDI-APEC-EDON (TAEC) Consortium Mombasa SGR Resident Engineer Eng. Kirika Njoroge and the China Road and Bridge Corporation representatives.
